        Indi Scanner is built as a 100% offline, privacy-first Android application. All document scanning, edge detection, optical character recognition (OCR), image processing, and PDF generation occur strictly on your physical device. We do not operate cloud storage servers, collect personal identifiers, or upload your scanned documents anywhere.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

We believe in absolute data privacy. Indi Scanner does not gather, store, or transmit any of the following:

Scanned Document Contents: Your scans, photos, PDFs, text Extractions, and custom watermarks remain strictly on your local device storage.
Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or account registration.
Location Data: We do not track or request access to your device GPS or location services.
Usage Analytics & Telemetry: We do not use third-party analytics trackers to record your document activity.

2. Device Permissions Required & How They Are Used

To function as an offline document scanner, Indi Scanner requests the following device permissions:

Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Used solely to capture physical documents for scanning using Google ML Kit Document Scanner API on your device. Camera frames are processed in real-time and never transmitted.
Storage Permission (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used exclusively to save exported PDFs and image scans to your device's local folder when requested by you.

3. Third-Party Services & Monetization

Indi Scanner offers a free tier monetized through Google AdMob non-personalized ads and optional Google Play Billing subscriptions:

A. Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)

The app displays non-personalized banner ads and rewarded interstitial video ads (for 24-Hour Premium Passes). All ad requests explicitly enforce non-personalized mode (npa = 1). AdMob may process non-sensitive device telemetry (such as screen size or general IP location) to deliver non-targeted ads in compliance with Google's Advertising Policies and GDPR/CCPA regulations.

B. Google Play Billing

If you purchase a Pro Subscription ($1.99/month or $19.99/year), the transaction is processed directly and securely by Google Play. We do not receive or handle your payment card numbers, billing addresses, or financial data.

4. Children's Privacy

Indi Scanner does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because the application processes all data offline without user accounts, it is completely safe for general audiences.

5. Security of Your Data

Your document vault and preferences are stored locally in your device's internal application directory using Android Jetpack DataStore and Room Database. Your data security relies on your Android device lock and encryption settings.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
